Our team has recently moved out of the South Milwaukee High School’s Fab Lab and into a new room in the middle school. This move was much needed for the team as it has given us much more space to do our work and many more storage opportunities.
Hey, Spencer here. The programming team has currently been working on our test robot trying to get our encoders to work with autonomous. We managed to get our CAN motor controllers to work properly as well.
Last Saturday, four of our team members and three mentors went to a training day for Wisconsin FRC teams. There are 8 new rookie teams in Wisconsin this year. So congratulations to the new teams! The four of us learned many things like safety procedures and game concepts. Even our mentors learned new things. We thank Waukesha County Technical College for hosting this event. And we are excited to be there again for kickoff.
Hedgeknight, our competition bot from last season’s Stronghold is getting adjustments. These adjustments include, but not limited to: Motor tweaking, fixing bugs in code, and getting our latch swapped out so the robot can launch the boulders. The robot was not driving straight and we fixed that. And we hope to get the comp bot back in shape in time for the free event we are attending later in November.
The Competition is 2017 STEAMWORKS and we are super excited about it. This year is especially unique because FIRST gave every team a DLC pack to check out with all kinds of goodies like logos and information.
